For several years, I had the opportunity to design merchandise for the So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) Tour, creating pieces that truly captured the show’s vibrant energy and connected with its dedicated fanbase. Each year, I started with thorough research into the latest fashion trends, audience demographics, and the visual identity of both the TV show and the tour. Collaborating closely with the production team, I worked to ensure the designs reflected the expressive, high-energy nature of the show while maintaining a fresh, collectible appeal that fit the tour’s branding.
Once the design direction was set, I focused on crafting a cohesive visual language that conveyed movement, rhythm, and emotion. This meant experimenting with bold typography, fluid graphic elements, and a dynamic color palette that would pop both on stage and in everyday wear. Each design was carefully adapted across different apparel and accessories to ensure the collection felt unified and visually striking. The final designs successfully captured the essence of SYTYCD, giving fans a high-quality, thoughtfully designed way to remember the experience.
