The Revivalists are a genre-blending rock band known for their soulful sound, dynamic live performances, and New Orleans roots. Their music fuses rock, folk, funk, and blues, creating an organic, heartfelt style that resonates with a passionate fanbase. With a reputation for high-energy shows and deeply emotional songwriting, their aesthetic leans into distressed textures, earthy tones, and retro-inspired visuals that reflect their raw and authentic sound.
From 2018 to 2020, I worked with the band to design merchandise that captured this essence—something that felt timeless yet fresh, vintage-inspired but not outdated. The goal was to create pieces that complemented their music while offering fans something unique and wearable beyond just a typical band tee.
Each design was developed with the band’s aesthetic in mind, often combining bold typography, surreal imagery, and classic rock-inspired graphics. Some pieces leaned into conceptual artwork, like a statue face with a hidden heart or a floral headpiece blending into a figure, giving them an artistic, unexpected feel. Others drew inspiration from old-school concert posters, incorporating checkerboard patterns, distressed textures, and layered elements for a worn-in, well-loved look.
While some designs were more structured and typography-driven, others focused on illustration-heavy compositions that felt unique to The Revivalists’ brand. To diversify the merch lineup beyond t-shirts, I also worked on wearable and functional pieces, including a drawstring bag with minimalist line art for a sleek, understated feel and a canvas tote featuring heart-shaped sunglasses with a fun, pop-art twist. These additions gave fans more ways to represent The Revivalists outside of traditional tour merch, making the collection more versatile and stylish.
